Testimonials

“When we first started seeing Mitra, our 6 month old son Joey was tube dependent and only able to handle drops of milk at a time. It was an overwhelming place to be in, but we were encouraged and empowered by Mitra. Through her competent and gentle care our son is now eating a whole range of food and his tube has been removed! Joey has made incredible progress in just a little over a year and we are so grateful for Mitra’s skilled guidance. ”

“Our experience with Mitra was amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and sweet. She was able to assess if a tongue tie release was indicated based on function. She taught us so much, made it fun for our baby, and gave customized recommendations for activities and products. I am so grateful we have gotten to work with her! I plan to book a future well-child appt so that we continue to identify anything that will greatly impact our child’s future.”

The amount of attention and dedication she gives you in every session is amazing! She will never push you to do something you are not comfortable with and will provide you with good feedback to accomplish your goals. My daughter loved her! We will truly miss seeing her every week. Mitra you are awesome!”

“Mitra taught me everything I needed to know to feed my daughters confidently. I’d read a lot online but when you have a professional helping you in real time it makes a world of a difference. Thank you Mitra!! Everyone should know that there is help out there when they hit a rough spot on this journey.”

“We love Mitra! We have always struggled to find things my little guy will actually eat which can be a challenging for our busy family but with Mitra’s help, we have already added 2 new foods to his diet and I’ve learned strategies that help us deal with a mealtime behavior. We are so thankful to have Mitra to helping us through this!”
— Kassie, mother of a 14 month old boy

“Ms. Mitra did such a great job working with my little one. He has a swallowing disorder which makes it uncomfortable to swallow. On top of that the required therapy (VitalStim) did not feel nice either but she was able to make him feel at ease quickly. Even though the treatment its self was uncomfortable, he looked forward to coming to every session. As the parent, Ms. Mitra was able to communicate well with me about how the therapy works, what the goals were for him to be successful, and gave strategies that I was able to implement at home. She was always willing to listen to my concerns and provide helpful feedback or made adjustments right then in therapy. He was really hesitant to try new foods before therapy since he did not know about being able to swallow it but his courage grew with Ms. Mitra’s encouragement. Now he is able to drink liquids like his peers with very little problems and is continuing to expand his palate. He had such a great time with Ms. Mitra that he still asks about her several months after completing therapy. We are so glad that we had her for his therapist!”
— Miranda Chemcharam, mother of a 15 month old boy

“Mitra is the absolute best!! She is kind, patient, thorough, and knowledgeable. Because of her creativity, she's able to tailor care for my child, and I'm sure others. His speech has improved so much since seeing her. He is talking so much more and putting more word combinations together. He does not get as frustrated when trying to communicate with us. So grateful for her!!!”

My daughter Aurora started seeing Mitra for speech therapy in when she was three-years-old. At three, my husband and I were told Aurora should be speaking over 200 words and putting together short sentences. This was not the case. Aurora’s vocabulary had remained the same since she was about 18 months old, and when she did talk, we could not understand what she was telling us. Aurora would resort to just pointing at things or using other forms of communication when trying to talk with us. It was a very frustrating time for my husband and myself because we never really understood what Aurora was trying to communicate to us, and it was equally frustrating for Aurora to the point that she wouldn’t want to say the few words we could understand. Mitra was one of the biggest blessings for my family and our superhero in this part of our lives. First, they worked on single letter sounds, then the sounds multiple letters make together like “th-, ph-, qu- “, then whole words, and eventually putting everything together to make sentences to carry a conversation. Mitra was flexible when we would have to reschedule due to illness or family emergencies. She was patient with Aurora and us as well. Mitra would pull my husband and I aside after every appointment and give us tools and resources to help continue the work she was doing with Aurora in our home. By summer, Mitra let us know that Aurora had reached the level of her peer group and successfully graduated from speech therapy. It was a bittersweet moment for our family because, even though we saw Mitra for only two hours a week, she had become a massive part of our family and our life. With Mitra’s help and teaching, I saw my daughter grow not just in verbal communication but in overall confidence as well. Thanks to Mitra, Aurora loves talking to us about her days at school, singing all her favorite Taylor Swift & Blackpink songs, and she is now in her second year of cheerleading being one of the loudest girls on her squad. We honestly can’t thank Mitra enough for her hard work and dedication to Aurora. I’m sure she had plenty of other patients that she helped during the time Aurora was her patient, but when we were with her, she made us feel like Aurora was her priority and focus. Aurora still talks about her Ms. Mitra to this day, and if we ever needed any help again, we would not hesitate to reach out to Mitra because she is quite literally amazing at what she does.
